SunCoast Trucking Academy is a certified third party tester for the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. If you have completed entry level driver training, we are able to administer skills tests for Class A, B, and C licenses. Tests for Class B and C passenger endorsements require bringing your own vehicle. Every training program we offer comes with a test and retest.
We offer four day CDL coaching classes for those who have experience or don't need 160 hours for employment. Coaching meets all entry level driver training requirements and includes testing, theory, and hands on training.
The 160 hour course provides you with the most drive-time, and is best for anyone with no experience driving combination vehicles. Most over the road companies require 160 hours in order to meet their requirements for entry level drivers. This course has financial aid options and weekend classes are available as well.
ABOUT
SunCoast Trucking Academy opened its doors in 2012 to help fulfill the demand for quality truck driver training in Southwest Florida. Our goal is to prepare each student to excel as a driver, thereby creating a safe environment for everyone sharing the roads. Students study and train to the standards set forth by national over the road companies, the FMCSA, and FLHSMV.

We take pride in the fact that we train all of our students in an environment that encourages questions and opportunities for individualized training. This allows for a more personal experience and more time behind the wheel during the range and road training. Our Instructors have many years of experience in over-the-road driving, instructional training, and state-certified examination. We are one of the few remaining CDL schools that gives the option to learn in manual transmission vehicles so our students can avoid having a restriction on their license.
